April Ross
April Ross is one of the few female beach volleyball athletes to capture medals at more than one Olympics. Alix-Klineman is set to compete alongside Ross at Tokyo to win her third gold medal over the coming days. Ross is also hoping to win her very first Olympic medal. There is a chance that this is her only chance at winning, as she's 39 old. Nevertheless, she remains confident of achieving top honours. Ross said on NBC Boston that if they perform at their very best, or play a great game and they are able to play well, the team will be able to win the gold medal. Also, I am going to rely on a bit of good luck. Ross was a Californian born in Costa Mesa in 1982. She lived here with her father, mother and sibling. In Newport Harbor High School, she was a participant in many different sports. In addition to indoor volleyball, she played basketball and jogged track as a pre-collegiate athlete. However, she was a standout in this sport. Based on her bio, she was a middle blocker and an outside hitting volleyball player throughout her time in high school. Gatorade Circle of Champions named her the national Player in 1999. The year 2000 was the time she received the Orange County Athlete of the of the year for volleyball. Ross has been working with Klineman from 2017, but Ross's beach game was well-established long before that. In fact, she's had the chance to win numerous events, one of which was with a legendary volleyball player. In the period 2007-2013 she played together with Jennifer Kessy who more recently played the role of Klineman's coach. Together with Kessy, Ross won the World Championship in 2009 when she competed on the international circuit. They were awarded a silver medal at the 2012 Olympic Games held in London. Misty May Treanor and Kerri Jennings the legendary team that won the 2012 Olympic Games in London, edged each other to take home the gold medal. Ross became Walsh Jennings new partner after May-Treanor's retirement. The pair won bronze in the Rio Olympics for beach volleyball. Ross participated in the USC Trojans in college after graduating from in high school. Her career was a success in the college. In 2000 she was named Pac-10 Freshman and NCAA Freshman Of The Year, and was also an All-American. The Trojans were also able to make it to the Final Four. Her heart was broken through a tragedy in her life during her sophomore years, yet she went on to be an All-American once more. Through her last two years in the program she led the Trojans up to the summit of the mountain winning three consecutive championships at the national level. As an individual she established herself as a legend by winning the Honda Sports Award for 2003-04. The award is given to the most outstanding female college volleyball players across the United States. Ross took a course in International Relations at USC. Margie Ross wasn't able to watch her daughter's climb to the beach volleyball spotlight. Ross's mom Margie passed away in 2001. Ross was still an USC sophomore. She had breast cancer. She is devoted to her parents who passed away. Margie is an inspiration both on and off at the beach.
