Charissa is an American Sportscaster born on May 5, 1982. ESPN analyst appointed in 2012 to host SportsNation. She co-hosted ABC series Splash alongside Joey Lawrence. Thompson was born in Seattle Washington. She was the youngest of 3 siblings, Thompson was aware that broadcasting was what she was looking for from an early age. She attended Inglemoor High School in Kenmore Washington. Thompson relocated to California so she could attend an California community college. Later, she transferred to Santa Barbara, the University of California, Santa Barbara which she attended and graduated with a B.A. In 2004, she graduated with a B.A. from Law and Society. Thompson explained that, while Sports Illustrated stated she attended UC Santa Barbara before transferring from UC Santa Barbara to a California Community College, she was not in attendance in Washington State. Thompson was offered by Sports Illustrated to do body painting in their Swimsuit Issue before starting her broadcasting career.
